2012 promises to be a flagship year for everyone in the borough as we host part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and become the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Royal Greenwich's residents are also set to benefit from new improved leisure facilities following the award of the new leisure management contract to Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) for 15 years to commence from January 2012.
The new leisure management contact will secure significant investment to deliver an outstanding Olympic legacy for residents. This will be achieved through investment in new facilities and investing in the existing leisure centres.
The new contract incorporates all the leisure centres, the five Adventure Play Sites, Southmere Boating Centre, Hornfair Park BMX track and Charlton Lido and this will enable greater service integration.
GLL will provide a continuation of leisure management provision which will be delivered, as already shown to a high standard. The Royal Borough looks forward to working with GLL over the next 15 years in improving the management of the borough’s leisure service even further.
