Cllr John Fahy is the Cabinet Member for Culture and Olympics.
As Greenwich Council Cabinet member for Culture, the Arts, Sports Development and the Olympics I feel privileged to be part of the opportunity to create a dynamic and vibrant sporting and leisure destination for the Borough. In the spirit of partnership I am committed to making Greenwich one of the most vibrant sporting and cultural destinations in London.
I want to work closely with the wide range of partners, to facilitate improvements where gaps exist and progress the development opportunities in the Borough. The Council is working through our Cultural and Sports Partnership to develop a common vision of what we want to achieve for the sustainable sports and cultural offer to all our communities. Where appropriate this common vision should also reflect the regional and national priorities for cultural services.
I am firmly of the view that our collective strength and ambition for the Borough leading up to and beyond the Olympics & Paralympics will lead to major local benefit for sport.
