On Wednesday 23rd September, Mayors from 8 different Surrey boroughs, including Epsom and Ewell's Cllr. Jan Mason, visited the Rainbow Centre for a guided tour. Partnership Manager, Simon Sen, led the group around the facility, aided and abetted by staff members in their respective areas.
The Mayors were suitably impressed with the centre. The group even joined in with a game going on in the bowls hall with Auriol Bowls Club, with some borough representatives being more successful than others!
Simon Sen, Partnership Manager for GLL in Epsom and Ewell said, "The Rainbow Centre is continuously going from strength to strength, and it was great to be able to showcase this for the Mayors of the Surrey boroughs. As well as ensuring that Jan Mason, Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, is aware of the progress of the centre; it is important that the other local authorities see our success, as sharing ideas is a key way of improving the leisure provision in Surrey."
In the lead up to the London 2012 Olympics, it is imperative to share local leisure knowledge, and GLL are delighted that this visit has become an annual occasion.
