Under 18 and live in Hackney?
From 1 July 2009 there will be an administration fee of £1.00 for all under 18's applying for a swim4life membership. This fee should be paid upon your first visit to your Local Leisure Centre.
You need to be a membership card holder to take part in free swimming. Once you have completed the joining process (which requires a valid email address), your card will be sent to your home address. Proof of identity will be required on first entry for all 8 to 17 years old by showing your Oyster photo card or a passport, and a £1.00 administration fee will be required to validate their account.
Apply for your card by simply filling out the registration online, and get your parent/ guardian or teacher's permission, then your card will be sent to you in the post.
To ensure you get a fast entry through reception and into the pool, it will be best if you can join online before you get to us. (£1.00 charge applies)
Check the Public session times on the pool programme. London Fields Lido is excluded from the promotion.
Terms and conditions of free swimming
- Free swimming is availble at designated times (effective 1st April 2009).
- Times are indicated as Public Swimming sessions on our full pool timetables
- Free swimming is only available in participating boroughs
- Centre and swim safely pool rules apply - see below

Swim Safely Rules:
- Non-swimmers and under 8s must be accompanied by a competent adult swimmer
- No more than two non-swimmers or under 8s to each competent adult swimmer
- The competent adult swimmers must actively supervise under 8s and non-swimmers
- Non-swimmers must remain in shallow water and it is strongly recommended that they use armbands and/or rubber rings
- Customer refunds will not be given to customers who have asked to leave the pool due to not being able to swim 25 metres
