We will do all we can to assist the delivery of the World's best ever Games and unparalleled sporting and community legacy.
At the heart of the Games in 2012 is the provision of a sustainable and relevant legacy that meets the requirements of both sport and the local community.
Providing this legacy in the multi-cultural, economically diverse communities within London requires not only proven experience and success within the Capital but unquestionable commitment to community benefit and demonstrable re-investment back into sport, physical activity and local communities.
Coupled with the above requirements and with experience of hosting national and international sporting events within London, GLL believe we are best placed to make a sustainable sporting legacy a reality post 2012.
GLL currently operate public sport and leisure centres within 13 London Boroughs; including all five Host 2012 Boroughs in East London and Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. 13 GLL sports venues have recently been approved for the '2012 Training Camp Guide'.
We are committed to developing pan-London initiatives and to delivering 'easy-to-use London wide access and benefits for Londoners. In our opinion these initiatives are the forerunner of many pan-London legacy themes and cross cutting initiatives.
As a leading social enterprise, GLL is ideally placed to ensure the ethical spread of legacy value to similarly minded organisations, local businesses and the local community.
If 2012 legacy is to become truly embedded in local communities then experienced London-wide enablers and delivery partners are essential.
"Providing a sustainable legacy sits at the very heart of the project and is a driving force for all the agencies responsible for building, staging and hosting the Games in 2012"
