GLL Community
GLL Community
GLL Community Development ethos is about building active and sustainable communities based on social justice and mutual respect. We strive to bring about a change in structures to remove the barriers that prevent people from participating in the issues that affect their lives.
Our purpose is to collectively bring about social change and justice, by working with communities
- Identify their needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities
- Plan, organise and take action
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the action
GLL has a team of Community Development Officers whose role is to act as a link between communities, our local government partners and other statutory bodies.
Our joint corporate ambition is around social and sporting inclusion
- To help make London and South East more active, developing strategies to increase participation in sport and physical activity in all age ranges and in all parts of the community
- To be a successful business with inherent social and environmental responsibility
- To focus on building long term partnerships with other 'willing' organisations and where we can 'add value' to community, sport and physical activity agendas.
- To be a significant player in the delivery of the 2012 Olympic/Paralympic agenda and to be a key 2010 Legacy delivery partner.
- To promote the development of sporting opportunities for all young persons, whilst assisting the development of young sporting talent and coaching capacity.
Our Community Development Vision
Through the promotion, provision and delivery of quality sport and physical activity in all our partnerships, GLL will empower the local community to improve their health, well being and quality of life.
Driven by making a difference to the communities of London

InclusiveLondon.com - has been unveiled by the Greater London Authority (GLA) to provide members of the public with accessibility information for hotels, restaurants, museums, tourist attractions and shops. The website will provide a first port of call for those planning to visit London in the run up to the 2012 Games and beyond.
Deputy Mayor Richard Barnes said: "This is a first for a host city and I am confident that as users add information to the site it will become a valuable one stop shop to help visitors with specific access needs to get around the capital and make the most of their stay."
