GLL offer extended Sunday opening hours at Woolwich Library
GLL, the UK’s largest leisure charitable social enterprise, is pleased to announce that Woolwich Library will now open every Sunday as of 1st March 2015, between 12pm and 4pm. The extended opening hours mean GLL can provide further access to library activities and services for those not able to visit the library during working hours, as well as providing greater access for regular users in accordance with our aim to provide the best service possible for local residents.
'Baby Rhyme Time’ sessions will be available on Sundays for parents and babies to enjoy, and there will be a chance for toddlers to try some arts and crafts in a ‘Messy Morning’ session; ‘Knit and Natter’ will also be available, as well as reading groups for adults.
As the busiest library in London and the second busiest in the UK, Woolwich Library is an important community hub, providing residents with access to books, audio-visual materials, computers, Wifi, quiet study space, online research resources, classes and health services including NHS health checks, and increasing the provision of these services is central to GLL’s aims as a charitable social enterprise.
Diana Edmonds, Head of Libraries for Better, said, “We are pleased to extend the opening hours at Woolwich Library for local residents. GLL aims to comprehensively serve the needs of its local communities, and we believe that Sunday opening will increase accessibility for residents and provide them with added time to use the variety of services and activities on offer.
GLL prides itself on providing the best service possible, and we are very excited about extending our opening hours to allow new and regular users extra time to enjoy the library.”
