GLL to open London’s first trampoline park

The UK’s largest leisure charitable social enterprise GLL, have announced that they will open London’s first ever indoor trampoline park this summer at Barking Sporthouse and Gym.

Operated by GLL under their ‘Extreme’ brand, the new indoor ‘Extreme Trampoline Park’ will offer 2150 square metres and a 125-person capacity of safety-padded, interconnecting trampolines for non-stop freestyle trampoline workouts and play. Air bag pits, Basketball and rope swings will be available, as well as a number of fitness classes.

Popular in the US but a relatively new concept in the UK, the trampoline park will be accessible for everyone offering group events, sports training and children’s birthday party bookings.

Chris Symons, Director of Development for GLL, said, “The new park is an exciting new project for GLL and the only offering of its kind in London. As GLL is the UK’s largest charitable social enterprise with over 150 sports and leisure facilities we reinvest surpluses back into innovation and growing participation. This will be a top class facility at affordable prices for everyone to enjoy.”

The trampoline provides significant cardiovascular benefits and enhances skills such as agility and balance, burning up to 1000 calories in just one hour. As a low-impact workout, it also absorbs significant shock when exercising so is much easier on joints and well suited for people recovering from injuries.

Chris Symons, adds, “Our mission at GLL is to help get more people, more active, more often and trampoline play is a unique, safe way for everyone to have fun, while at the same time gaining significant health and fitness benefits.

In April, we will also be launching London’s biggest indoor ‘Extreme Skate Park, as well as a new ‘Extreme Vertical Playground’ this summer at Barking Sporthouse, featuring adventure play and climbing for all ages. The trampoline park will compliment our ‘Extreme’ alternative sports and activities offers to encourage healthier communities.”
