UKactive announces new board members
Five new board directors join ukactive board for 2013-2016.
Five senior industry professionals have been elected onto the ukactive board to lead the physical activity sector over the next three year period, 2013-2016.
David Stalker, CEO, ukactive said: "I am delighted to welcome our new board members and I look forward to working closely with them over the next three years.
"Following a successful organisational rebrand in 2012, we enter this period with renewed focus and energy for the challenge of getting our message of more people, more active, more often across to policymakers, businesses and consumers. There has never been a more important time for the physical activity sector to demonstrate its ability to work together to improve the health of the nation. I feel confident that our board represents a very strong mix of individuals from across the sector, bringing decades of experience and insight to the table to help us achieve this vision."

Operator - multi-site
Andy McCabe, Operations Director, GLL
Andy said: "I am delighted to be elected onto the ukactive board of directors, giving further representation to the growing charitable social enterprise sector on the board and engaging with the new agendas is something I am very much looking forward to. In public, private and social enterprise fitness and leisure there cannot be anything much more important than getting more people, more active, more often."
Martin Seibold, UK Managing Director, Fitness First
Martin said: "Fitness First are long-standing members of ukactive and the ukactive Vanguard group, and I look forward to working with the ukactive board and team in continuing to support operators of all sizes whilst applying an increased focus to health, nutrition, lifestyle and education and developing innovative ways to get the nation active."
John Treharne, CEO, Gym Group
John said: "Collectively we can achieve so much more than if we try to work in silo. I am really looking forward to getting involved in discussions and decisions that will drive our sector forwards for the mutual benefit of all."

The new board members will attend four board meetings a year and be ambassadors at ukactive events and spokespeople for media opportunities.
