Leisure Centres in Lambeth

Lambeth Council in partnership with GLL is pleased to announce the continuation of a free swimming programme for under 16s and over 60s until 5 September 2010.

I am delighted to welcome you to the many leisure and sporting activities which we offer in Lambeth.

Lambeth Council has been working with our leisure contractor, GLL, to provide and improve a wide range of sport and recreation facilities in our local communities.

Our flagship leisure centre, Brixton Recreation Centre, benefited in 2007 from refurbishments costing over £2.8million. It now boasts some unique facilities, including the UK’s largest dedicated children only area including the Fitness Zone with a junior gym, dance studio and interactive dance mats, plus the Energy Zone with crazy interactive games. Other innovations include a new climbing wall, indoor football pitch and a softplay area for children up to 8 years.

But it isn’t just Brixton that is benefiting; exciting plans for new leisure centres in the borough are also underway. Lambeth actively promotes healthy lifestyles and lifelong fitness, that’s why our younger and older residents can now enjoy swimming and tennis absolutely FREE. With expert advice from fully trained instructors, group exercise classes and tailored fitness programmes, there’s certain to be an activity to help keep you fit and healthy. So with so many activities to choose from, why not get down to one of our leisure centres and give something a try?
