Individual Awards

Charter Mark

Now known as the Customer Service Excellence Scheme, a Charter Mark was a national standard of excellence award issued by the Cabinet Office in recognition of excellent customer service. The Charter Mark was a major part of the government's drive to modernise public services.

It was unique among quality schemes, because organisations are judged on their results through the service that the customer actually receives. It showed that customers are being put first. It demonstrates to people, both customers and people in other organisations, the high standards in public service that can be achieved.

GLL is the 1st leisure organisation to have attained this award.
