‘Hollyoaks’ actress and qualified fitness instructor Jennifer Metcalfe today (1 March) launched GLL’s Better Bike Challenge - Britain’s biggest indoor bike ride for Sport Relief from the East Manchester Leisure Centre.
GLL’s customer facing brand Better saw its leisure centres across the nation throw open their doors to hundreds of people vowing to cycle a mile and give a pound to Sport Relief.

GLL’s Nationwide Fitness Class to help raise money for Sport Relief

GLL, the leisure charitable social enterprise that is the UK’s largest provider of public gyms and leisure centres is hosting a nationwide group exercise class to raise money for Sport Relief.
On Thursday 3rd March, 100 Better leisure centres across the seven regions GLL operate in are taking part in a total body conditioning group exercise class from 7pm to 8pm. GLL staff members, family and friends are all welcome to take part.

GLL, the leisure charitable social enterprise that is also the UK’s largest provider of public pools, is organising a 31 mile Swim Challenge for Sport Relief that will test the mettle of its staff and celebrity participants alike.
The enterprise which exists to provide better community services and spaces such a gyms and leisure centres, libraries and children’s centres, is fielding a team of 13 swimmers who will all attempt the feat in 31 pools over six days – starting at East Finchley pool on 25 February and ending at the iconic London Aquatic Centre on 1 March.

Those recognised represented GLL’s myriad services including front-line leisure operations, libraries, health & wellbeing and business support.
People are at the heart of this not-for-profit organisation and the awards provided a platform to recognise and reward those colleagues who have made a difference to their workplace, their colleagues and the community.
New Swindon Trampoline Park Promises Extremely Good Fun

Fun-loving locals are in for a real treat with the opening of a brand new Extreme Trampoline Park in Swindon next week (1st February 2016)
The new 1,100 square metre park is the second of its kind in the UK and follows the launch of the Better Extreme Sports Facility in Barking, London last summer. It is operated by GLL, the charitable social enterprise that runs the facility under its brand name, Better Extreme.
Archway residents get active as Leisure Centre celebrates £2m investment

Archway Leisure Centre was officially re-launched on Tuesday 26 January following a £2m investment that has extended the gym, installed new equipment and refreshed the pool hall.
Leading leisure charitable social enterprise GLL took over the 15 year contract for managing Islington Council’s eight leisure facilities in April 2014 when a £10m investment in accessible leisure was also confirmed.
