Charitable social enterprise GLL has announced a £1.2 million athlete fund to support over 2000 athletes across the UK in 2016/17.
The VIP event was held at the prestigious BT Tower in London on Tuesday 3rd May with guest of honour GSF Patron Sally Gunnell.

For The Girls Programme Achieves Project Targets

The For The Girls Programme is a Sporta funded programme that has been delivered in Cambridge, Hackney, Greenwich, South Oxfordshire and Tower Hamlets over the last 2 years.
GLL were awarded £192,975 to deliver the project. Over the 2 years, 5,300 women and girls have taken part in the project with over 45,000 visits. A dedicated Women and Girls Programme has been set up in each partnership and the sessions have become embedded within centre programmes.
Lincolnshire Libraries welcome scheme to support young people’s mental health

At a time when 1 in 10 young people have a diagnosable mental health issue, Lincolnshire Libraries are throwing their support behind a scheme to help them with expert endorsed books available to borrow for free.
Reading Well for young people is a national scheme, part of the hugely successful Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme, which will provide 13-18 year-olds with high-quality information, support and advice on a wide-range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and self-harm, and difficult life pressures, like relationships, cyber-bullying and exams.

GLL held its first Better Health Conference on Thursday 14th April 2016. The event was held at Porchester Halls, Westminster and was attended by 70 GLL employees from the Better Health Teams, as well as many from the Community Sports Teams. Representatives attended from across the UK with teams from London and the South East as well as the West of England, Cumbria, Manchester and Northern Ireland.
Lincoln Library Reading Garden Opens

GLL have wasted no time in getting Lincoln Library ready for summer – opening a Reading Garden at the flagship city centre library.
The charitable social enterprise took over the management of Lincolnshire's 15 major libraries this month on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

Plans for Bath Leisure Centre aim to significantly increase participation in local sports and leisure activities attracting more people into the leisure centre by putting fun at its heart.

Centre for Sport to benefit from over £1 million investment

Newcastle’s Centre for Sport is set to benefit from £1.3 million of investment into its facilities and services this year, with renovation and expansion work starting later this month.
The funding will see the centre’s existing gym area refurbished and extended and the introduction of state-of-the-art Technogym fitness equipment. A new multi-purpose fitness studio will be created, along with a new look reception area and customer café, all under the management of charitable leisure operator NCL.
GLL raises an incredible £325,617 for Sport Relief

GLL, the UK’s largest leisure charitable social enterprise, has already collected a whopping £325,617 for Sport Relief 2016 across its consumer facing 'Better' brand.
The total announced by Sport Relief on 18 March is likely to be exceeded as further fundraising events are taking place in March and April.
