Centre for Sport to benefit from over £1 million investment

Newcastle’s Centre for Sport is set to benefit from £1.3 million of investment into its facilities and services this year, with renovation and expansion work starting later this month. The funding will see the centre’s existing gym area refurbished and extended and the introduction of state-of-the-art Technogym fitness equipment. A new multi-purpose fitness studio will be created, along with a new look reception area and customer café, all under the management of charitable leisure operator NCL.


GLL raises an incredible £325,617 for Sport Relief

Spa London at Ironmonger Row Baths took the runners up spot in the Day Spa of the Year category at the prestigious Professional Beauty Awards 2016. Islington’s first ever, public sector spa was one of just five day spas drawn from across the UK, to reach the final stages of the Best Day Spa competition. The rigorous judging process saw a team of judges try a range of treatments, interview staff and customers and also ‘mystery shop’ the facility.

‘Hollyoaks’ actress and qualified fitness instructor Jennifer Metcalfe today (1 March) launched GLL’s Better Bike Challenge - Britain’s biggest indoor bike ride for Sport Relief from the East Manchester Leisure Centre. GLL’s customer facing brand Better saw its leisure centres across the nation throw open their doors to hundreds of people vowing to cycle a mile and give a pound to Sport Relief.
