GLL provides fitness for free this Friday

GLL, the UK’s largest leisure charitable social enterprise, are hosting a number of ‘Power Half Hour’ sessions across their ‘Better’ leisure centres this Friday, to celebrate National Fitness Day, with a choice of circuit training, Brazilian dance, core stability and aerobics just some of the free classes for all on offer.

National Fitness Day, which takes place on 26 September 2014, is the largest celebration of physical activity in the UK. Over 60 GLL leisure centres are offering everyone the chance to get involved in ‘Power Half Hour Sessions’ across the UK.

GLL is also an official partner of ‘National Fitness Day LIVE’, which is coming to three major cities on Friday, including London (Covent Garden), Birmingham (Victoria Square) and Bristol (Central Promenade) and is run by ukactive. These events will consist of two, half hour group exercise classes, and will encourage members of the public to get involved to kick-start their journey towards an active lifestyle.

Mark Sesnan, Managing Director, GLL, said, “Whether people want to get more active, or even just try something new, the National Fitness Day ‘Power Half Hour’ and National Fitness Day LIVE events are a great place to start this Friday, with both members and non-members welcome at our Better leisure centres.

“As a major UK leisure provider, our mission at GLL and ukactive is to help get more people, more active, more often, as we know the great benefits that are linked with regular exercise, such as a healthier heart and mind. These classes are sure to be a great fun, and will give people the chance to see that getting fit (along with the rest of the country) does not have to be boring or lonely.”
